Last day, Lasting memories

Today is sadly the last day here at the Write On Sports camp. I have made many memories with all the new kids I met, memories I won't forget. I also will always remember all the things I was taught by the teacher and the 'vets'. I speak for all when I say this. We will always remember these past two weeks.

Cheese fries and rain

Today our class took an oh so pleasant (not really) trip to a Jackals game. We got the chance to interview the manager, hitting coach, and first base coach. Through the rain and all the loud children, I was able to ask a few questions to the men...
I asked the manager what he thought of how important team work was to his boys and his reply was, "Team work is not as important as the chemistry our rookies and vets share." The men also informed us that it is very important that the boys want to win for them to actually advance in their league. After our sweet little interview our group waited under the tarp for the weather to clear up, sadly it didn't. So for about the next hour and a half our class ran around getting food and watching employees run on the wet field. In my spare time I grabbed some soggy hot dogs and cheese fries with my good friend Ace Vet (Yvenson)

New York Red Bulls

This morning as our class settled into our seats we were informed that we would be visiting the New York Red Bulls! I began going crazy since the Red Bulls were, of course, my favorite MLS team... This is my following analysis on our interview with the Red Bulls.
When our class arrived at the practice field, we were greeted by the Kate and Kristy the public relations personnel of the team. I was able to fit in a few questions like which team were the players rooting for to win the World Cup. Katy replied, " The guys are half and half. They are doing a point system to see who could get bragging rights."
After a few minutes the ladies left and we got the chance to talk to the assistant coach (Richie Williams) and two players (Danleigh Borman and Luke Sassano). All three were humble men that were all, ironically, cheering for Spain to win the World Cup title!

Dream Interview: Luis Suarez

My dream interview would have to be with Luis Suarez. I would love to interrogate him during the Uruguay v. Ghana quart-final game (1-1). Though, it can not be at any moment. It must be the second he walks off the field after being given a red card for his very historic hand ball. I dream that the atmosphere will be extremely chaotic and intense. The arena will go crazy [playing vuvuzelas and screaming], both Uruguay AND Ghanaians! I would run up to the very hysterical Suarez and get his first initial reaction to what he had just done. Since Suarez would be in a very instinctual mode and would not have a very compiled reason for why he would have committed such a play, I could possibly get the very best reply to why he'd save the ball in such a way.
